Carrie Underwood joined Village People, Lee Greenwood at Trump’s inauguration events

Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration events will feature performances by Carrie Underwood, the Village People and Lee Greenwood.

Underwood released a statement Monday saying she is “honored” to perform when Trump takes the oath of office on Jan. 20 in the U.S. Capitol.

“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood said, according to The Associated Press. “I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in a spirit of unity and look forward.”

Underwood, the 2005 “American Idol” winner, will sing “America the Beautiful” and will be joined by the Armed Forces Choir and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club.

A spokesperson for the Trump-Vance inauguration committee told Fox News Digital Underwood will perform at the swearing-in ceremony for President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.

The ’70s disco group the Village People has been a fixture at Trump rallies over the past year, playing hits like “YMCA” and “Macho Man.”

The group is scheduled to perform at one of Trump’s inauguration balls and a rally he’s holding in Washington the day before his inauguration.

The Village People shared a statement on Facebook on Monday. “We know this won’t make some of you happy to hear, but we believe music should be performed without regard to politics,” the band said.

“Our song YMCA is a global anthem that will hopefully help bring the country together after a tumultuous and divisive campaign in which our favorite candidate lost,” they continued. “That’s why we believe now is the time to bring the country together through music, and that’s why VILLAGE PEOPLE will be performing at various events as part of the 2025 inauguration of Donald J. Trump.”

The Associated Press reported that opera singer Christopher Macchio, along with Greenwood, is set to make an appearance during Trump’s inauguration festivities.
