New opponent steps in to fight Bogdan Guskov at UFC 311

After all, Bogdan Guskov has a fight at UFC 311.

This past Saturday, Johnny Walker announced he was out of his scheduled fight with Guskov (16-3) at Saturday’s pay-per-view in Los Angeles, citing a “bad injury.”

Officials announced Monday that Guskov now has a short-term replacement opponent, octagonal newcomer Billy Elekana (7-1). The change was first reported by MMA mania.

This is good news for Guskov, who is looking to build on a successful 2024 campaign that saw him score knockouts of Ryan Spann and Zac Pauga. Fourteen of his sixteen career victories have come by way of KO/TKO.

Elekana also looks set to continue his winning ways. Having previously competed for the PFL and LFA, Elekana brings a three-fight winning streak into his UFC debut.

UFC 311 is headlined by a pair of title fights as Islam Makhachev defends his lightweight title against rival Arman Tsarukyan in the main event and Merab Dvalishvili looks to make his first title defense against undefeated Umar Nurmagomedov in the co-main event.
