Dacy Airport crash: Small plane crashes into building in McHenry County

A small plane crashed into a building at a McHenry County airport Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at Dacy Airport, located along Airport Road in Harvard, around 1:20 p.m

When the Harvard Fire Protection District arrived on scene, crews located a small single-engine plane in the back of a hangar at the rear of the property. The aircraft was located nose down and leaking fuel.

The male pilot had removed himself from the cockpit before firefighters arrived. He was not injured.

Crews worked to move the plane to prevent more fuel from leaking.

SkyFOX was above the scene and caught the plane sitting next to the building, which suffered minor damage and was missing some panels.

The circumstances of the accident were not immediately known.
