Greenville Co. schools announce current plans for Friday before potential weather

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – Greenville County Schools announced their current plans regarding closings on Friday.

Officials report that all field trips, athletic events and activities scheduled for Friday and Saturday have been canceled at this time to ensure buses are available if an early dismissal is necessary.

A decision regarding the school schedule on Friday will be made closer to the expected weather event, according to officials.

Officials said, “This delay allows the district to formulate a plan that optimizes student learning while minimizing the burden on parents who need child care.”

The district said it aims to announce its decision regarding Friday’s schedule before Thursday’s dismissal.
