Mark Wahlberg Shares Head Shave Flashback Video

Mark Wahlberg is “keeping it real.”

On Thursday, January 2, the 53-year-old actor rang in the new year by sharing behind-the-scenes content about what it took for him to get into character for his latest film Flight risk.

“Check out @flightriskmovie keep it real no bald cap NO CAP out,” he captioned an Instagram feed of him getting his head shaved by a stylist.

“F— are you watching?” he teased in the clip while sitting in a lounge chair. Elsewhere in the video, he added: “It’s coming back.”

Fans in his comments section appreciated the look and added their own jokes.

“More like Mark Baldberg,” one person wrote. Another added: “Should be your new profile pic.”

Wahlberg first shared footage of his bald appearance in a July 3, 2024, Instagram posts.

“No bald cap for me we’re going all in,” he captioned the upload, which showed him posing next to the stylist who made his look possible.

As she smiled and pointed at him, he put one arm around her and looked frantically at the camera, with only the middle area of ​​his hair missing – the sides still intact, though what was left was quite disheveled.

Wahlberg stars in the Mel Gibson-directed action thriller as a pilot who transports a US Marshal (Michelle Dockery) and a prisoner (Topher Grace) on a small flight across Alaska en route to New York City, where the prisoner will testify in an upcoming trial against an organized crime group.

“There was no bald cap. I shaved the middle and left the horseshoe around the sides. We just shaved it,” he said at the time. “They shaved the top as close to the scalp as possible every day, of course, because we didn’t have stubble or anything. So I just hid it with a hat.”

“But the most priceless thing was seeing my wife’s face when I took off my hat after getting my hair cut for work that day,” Wahlberg told PEOPLE.

He added that Durham, 46, wouldn’t be the only one who would find his shaved head amusing.

“Oh, they’ll love it. My kids—especially my boys—they loved the haircut,” Family plan continued the actor.
