Snow showers, strong winds and falling temperatures today

Advice on winter weather until 4 a.m. Tuesday for Northern Erie and Genesee Counties. Expect a few inches of snow (especially south of I-90) and high winds.

Lake Effect Snow Warning for southern Erie, Wyoming, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties from 13.00 Monday to 04.00 Thursday. 10 to 20 inches of snow is expected with strong winds creating difficult travel conditions.

Temperatures will begin to drop this afternoon into the 20s with west winds gusting up to 40 mph at times. Lake effect snow will continue south and east of Buffalo and will drift further into ski country and the south tonight.
